IIT Bhubaneswar M.Tech Admission through GATE 2022: Application process
After GATE 2022 exam is over, candidates can apply for admission in IIT Bhubaneswar for M. Tech, tentatively starting from March 2022. They will have to submit an application form for the same. However, the first and foremost task after the GATE exams is to register on GATE COAP website.
Step 1: GATE COAP Registration
On the official website of GATE COAP, the candidate has to register themselves by entering the following details,

- Date of Birth
Registering in GATE COAP is necessary to make sure that the candidate can appear for the counseling.
Step 2: Application form submission at IIT Bhubaneswar
After successful registration for GATE COAP 2022, candidates can proceed to apply for M. Tech in IIT Bhubaneswar.
- First, they must register themselves using their email ID and a password on the website of IIT Bhubaneswar.
- Automatically generated user ID and password will be provided, which will be used to log in to fill up the application form.

IIT Bhubaneswar M.Tech Admission through GATE 2022: Selection Procedure
GATE score is the most important criterion for shortlisting candidates for admission to IIT Bhubaneswar’s M. Tech courses. 70% weightage will be given to GATE scores and the remaining 30% will be accounted for on the performance of the candidate in a written test and an interview round. The written test and interview will have an equal weightage of 15% each. To qualify for the interview round, unreserved category candidates must attain at least 40% of the maximum marks in the written test. To ensure his/her final selection, he/she must obtain 50% of the total marks in the final interview round. Criteria for the qualification of reserved category students will be followed as per the norms of IIT Bhubaneswar.
All such candidates who have served in an organization for at least 3 years can also apply for M. Tech in IIT Bhubaneswar under the ‘Sponsored candidate’ category. Those who have valid GATE scores will be shortlisted in the same manner as that for the regular candidates. However, those who have not appeared for GATE can also be considered for admission. In such cases, the candidate must have secured at least 65% marks or its equivalent in the academic examinations he/she has appeared for. When this criterion is fulfilled he/she has to appear for a written test and gradually for an interview. The written test will carry 70% weightage and that for the interview will be 30%.

Applicants who have been shortlisted based on their performance in GATE will have to appear for a written test. The written test will have a weightage of 15%. On qualifying in this round, candidates will be called for an interview round carrying a weightage of 15%.
IIT Bhubaneswar M.Tech Admission 2022: Interview process
The interview round will carry up to 30% weightage to decide on the final selection of the candidate. Candidates will have to carry the following documents at the time of the interview,

- Caste certificate issued by a competent authority
- Relieving certificate from employer, if working

Tech students in IIT Bhubaneswar are eligible to receive financial assistance over the period of their study. This assistance will be provided for a period of a maximum of 24 months. The monthly value receivable by the students will be decided by the Board of Governors and updated from time to time. It must be kept in mind that this assistance will be provided to regular candidates only. Sponsored candidates are not eligible.
