NIT Trichy M.Tech: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

NIT Trichy M.Tech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For NIT Trichy MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is October 12, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 20^th October, 2023.Furthermore, GATE 2024 tentative exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam is expected to be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11. 

NIT Trichy MTech program is a 2 year PG program offered in 18 specialisations. NIT Trichy allows admission to those candidates who qualify the GATE entrance exam and further register for CCMT counselling. NIT Trichy MTech cutoff in overall for the year 2023 ranges between 364-674 for the general category.

NIT Trichy MTech program consists of core courses, laboratory courses and elective courses for the first two semesters. In the 3^rd and 4^th semester, it includes project works and assignments. Stduents are awarded with an MTech degree only if they pass all the final courses assessment with a minimum percentage of 30. NIT Trichy charges an amount of approx 2.5 lakhs for the overall course.

NIT Trichy M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• The student has secured a minimum of 60% aggregate or a CGPA of 6.5 in the qualifying examination. The minimum marks regulation is relaxed for candidates belonging to SC/ST quota as per the norms of the Government of India.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent degree in a relevant branch of Engineering/ Technologies or a Masters degree in the relevant field.

• Admission to the M.Tech program is on the basis of GATE scores followed by CCMT counselling. 
• College teachers who have applied through the Quality Improvement Program. Candidates serving in an industry, sponsored by their employers.
• Part-time admissions are granted by different departments on the basis of a written examination or interview.

NIT Trichy M.Tech Course Details

• The duration of each semester will be 90 working days.
• The first two semesters of M.Tech have core courses, Laboratory courses, and 6 elective courses. The 3rd and 4th semester will include Project work.
• Each elective courses are of 3 or 2 Credits, Laboratory courses are of 2 Credits while core courses differ, can be of 2, 3, and 4 Credits.
• Assessment: Respective faculty will carry out the students’ assessments according to the course plan.
• Project Work: The continuous evaluation of the project will be carried out by the Department Project Evaluation Committee (DPEC).
• Award of Degree: Students will be awarded an M.Tech degree if they have passed all the final courses’ assessments with a minimum of 30% aggregate marks.

NIT Trichy MTech Fees 2023 is approximately INR 2.50 Lacs. The institute charges around INR 35,000 per semester as the tuition fee. Students at NIT Trichy are required to pay a tuition fee, hostel, and festival charges at the beginning of every semester. Annual fee charges are to be paid at the beginning of odd semesters only.
