NIT Rourkela M.Tech: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

NIT Rourkela M.Tech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For NIT Rourkela MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is October 12, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 20^th October, 2023. Furthermore, GATE 2024 exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam will be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11. 

NIT Rourkela offers a 2 year duration MTech program in 31 different specialisations. The institute grants admission to its MTech course based on the marks secured in the GATE exam and CCMT counselling method. NIT Rourkela cutoff in overall for the year 2023 ranges between 351-622 for the general category.

For NIT Rourkela MTech admission 2024, it is mandatory for the candidates to hold BTech degree with a minimum 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks in aggregate and have to take the GATE exam. The GATE qualified students have to register for the CCMT counselling via its official website for the seat allocation process. Candidates must pay a seat acceptance fee to reserve their seats at the institute.

NIT Rourkela MTech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have cleared B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in relevant discipline with 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
• Candidates must have appeared for the GATE exam for the relevant years.
• Candidates who have studied Bachelor’s program in correspondence mode should belong to IGNOU institute.

NIT Rourkela MTech Admission 2023-24

• Candidates will be selected on the basis of GATE score.
• On the basis of GATE Score, a merit list will be prepared and the shortlisted candidates need to register for the CCMT Counselling.
• In this stage, candidates will be allotted seats on the availability of seats in the institute and their rank.

NIT Rourkela M.Tech Counselling Process 2023-24

GATE CCMT Counselling process consists of five stages. These include: 

Stage 1: Online CCMT Registration, Choice Filling, and Locking

Stage 2: Online CCMT Seat Allotment & Seat Acceptance Fee Deposit

Stage 3: Online CCMT Document Uploading and Submit Willingness

Candidates are required to exercise one of the following willingness when they report to the RC:

• Floating: if they wish to be considered in the next round for all of their higher preferred choices.
• Sliding: if they wish to be considered in the next round for their higher preferred choices only within the Institute allotted to them.
• Freezing: if they are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and not interested in their higher preferred choices in the subsequent round.

Stage 4: Online CCMT Document Verification

• Document verification will be done by the verifying officer of the respective allotted institute only in the online mode.
• After successful verification of documents, an ODVC (Online Document Verification Certificate) will be generated.

Stage 5: Online Admission in the Finally Allotted Institute- After successful online document verification by the finally allotted institute, the candidates will have to pay the balance admission fee to the respective Institute in the online mode.
