NIT Rourkela BTech Admissions 2024 registrations are going on. The institute offers its flagship program i.e., BTech for a duration of 4 years. NIT Rourkela flagship BTech admission is based on the JEE Mains score followed by the JoSAA counselling. Since the application process for the BTech program is currently open, the aspirants can now apply online on jeemain.nta.nic.

Furthermore, NIT Rourkela BTech 2024 admissions will be based on JEE Mains 2024. JEE Mains is expected to take place in two phases, i.e., in the month of January and April. JEE Mains 2024 first attempt exam date is scheduled on the last week of January 2024 (tentative).

• Aspiring candidates must have a Passed 10+2 or any relevant course with a minimum of 75% or be within the top 20 scores in the 12th class exam.
• For SC/ST, the qualifying marks are 65%.
• A valid score in JEE Mains followed by JoSAA centralized counseling.

• The selection to BTech program at NIT Rourkela are made on the basis of ranka secured by a candidate in the JEE Main entrance examination.
• Seats are alloted after successful completion of JoSAA counselling process.

NIT Rourkela B.Tech Application Process

• Fill up the e-application form on the NIT Rourkela website and upload all documents in the form.
• The documents will be verified by the Institute officials. The official will inform students through email if there is an issue with the certificates of the students.
• On successful completion of the Admission process, you will be generated a Roll No. You will be notified of your Roll No. through email, and instructions will be given regarding online classes and registration through the faculty advisor.
• Each student will be assigned one Faculty Advisor who will guide you through the registration process.
• Each student will be provided an Institute Email Id through their registered mail Id.
• Online classes will be conducted online in the Microsoft Teams App till the situation normalizes.
• Each student will be assigned a User-Id and Password through their mail.
• Students need to attend all classes online in Microsoft Teams App instantly after they get their Roll No.

NIT Rourkela BTech Syllabus

The course wise syllabus is as follows for B.Tech disciplines offered at NIT Rourkela:

• Duration: The B.Tech program is a four-year program. But if a student cannot cope with the workload the student may opt for a slow pace program in some cases.
• The curricula for the B.Tech programs will be recommended by the Undergraduate program and evaluation committee (UGPEC).
• The curricula followed in the first two semesters by the students of all disciplines shall be almost common.
• If the number of For UR grades in a subject taught in the autumn or spring semester is significant, a department may offer a summer course.
• Attendance: attending classes, participating in the continuous evaluation process and classroom discussions are essential components of academic programs.
• Students are advised to attend all the classes without fail to have 100% attendance. Lack of attendance may lead to a reduction of grades in that semester.
• Post-Matric scholarships (for SC-ST students) given by the Orissa government. And several scholarships are also provided for students studying in NIT Rourkela like TCS, Merit scholarship, NTS, Indian oil scholarship, ONGC scholarship, etc.
